Installation Guide
Prior to running the setup script. the following items need to be verified:
System Requirements
During the setup script, PhreeBooks will inspect your system and let you know of any missing or downlevel pre-requisites. The setup script will not continue until these pre-requisites are met.
1. Mysql Version: 4.0 or higher
2. PHP Version: 5.0 and higher
To install:
1. Go to the home page of PhreeBooks.com and click the large ‘Download Now’ button.
2. You will be taken to Sourceforge.com where you should then click the green download button (PhreeBooks version 1.8).
3. Save the file to your desktop (for easiest access in the future) and click OK to begin downloading.
4. Once the download is complete, double click the PhreeBooks file on your desktop.
5. Extract the ZIP file.
6. PhreeBooks has a built-in automatic installation system. However to use this you must first unpack the code to a web server. The web server can either be on your local computer or on an internet host.
7. Once extracted, you will have a directory containing the PhreeBooks(tm) scripts. The contents of this directory needs to be moved to your webserver, either by copying the directory or by using an FTP progam.
8. You will then need to run the install script. To do this you need to open a browser and type in the URL.If you are running on a your own computer, this will be http://localhost/{phreebooks-directory}/index.php or if on a live server: http://{www.mydomain.com}/index.php
9. You will be notified that the configure.php file does not exist and a link will be provided to start the installation script.
10. Follow the prompts to install PhreeBooks(tm).
